Arizona auto accidents leave families reeling from their losses

Simple expressions such as "life can change in the blink of an eye" have been heard so often that they no longer seem to hold any meanings. Sadly, they are statements that are proved to be true each day along Arizona roadways as serious auto accidents continue to occur. Families are left to try and pick up the pieces after these devastating tragedies take an unimaginable toll on their lives.

Police recently responded to the scene of a crash at a local intersection. According to preliminary reports, a 22-year-old man was traveling northbound as he approached the crossroads. A 68-year-old woman was headed southbound and was preparing to make a left hand turn in the intersection. According to police, eyewitnesses stated that the man appeared to be racing another vehicle as they neared the intersection.

His vehicle crashed into the woman's car. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby medical center. Unfortunately, her injuries were too severe and she later died. The driver believed to have been at fault and his 22-year-old female passenger were both treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. The wreck closed the road for several hours while Arizona officials worked to complete their investigation and clear the debris from the travel lanes.

Once he was released from care, police arrested the man and charged him with murder in the second degree and aggravated assault. He is awaiting further proceedings. The victim's family are understandably devastated by her sudden and tragic death. Families in these circumstances often struggle emotionally while also attempting to manage the financial burdens these types of auto accidents cause. When these crashes are the result of negligence on the part of another party, the families may have recourse to seek recovery of their monetary damages through a civil lawsuit.
