Phoenix auto accidents can affect anyone regardless of occupation

Whenever there is an emergency of any type in the Phoenix area, the image of first responders may come to mind, as they are the ones tasked with keeping others safe. Unfortunately, no job title can protect even these heroes from becoming victims of tragedies such as auto accidents. Recently, police held a fundraiser to help provide for one of their own.

The purpose of an all-day BBQ was to help ensure that an injured police officer and his family could provide for their everyday needs in the wake of a horrific accident. The crash occurred when the veteran police officer was off-duty and was traveling with his family in their vehicle. Though details were not provided in the most recent report, the injured policeman suffered life-changing injuries that will presumably preclude him from ever returning to duty as a police officer.

According to a close relative -- who is also part of the Phoenix police force -- the man lost both an arm and a leg in the wreck. His wife and two children also required hospitalization following the crash, but they have since been released from care and are recovering at home. The injured man remains in the intensive care unit of the local hospital.

It is unclear what may have caused this tragic wreck that has left the injured husband and father unable to provide for his family in the manner to which they have become accustomed. The local police force are seeking to raise capital to provide for the officer's care and his family's needs. Though the report did not indicate who may have been at fault for this particular crash, any time victims have been injured in serious auto accidents caused by another party, they may seek compensation for their financial losses through the filing of a personal injury civil suit. An attorney who has successfully navigated claims for restitution can provide further information regarding the process of filing these civil suits.
