Man faces charges after causing death, injury in auto accidents

The decision to ingest intoxicating substances and then get behind the wheel of an automobile can have life-changing consequences. When that decision causes others to suffer harm from resulting auto accidents, then the lives of innocent families are also negatively impacted forever. Two families in Arizona are now experiencing this pain firsthand.

Police arrested and charged a 26-year-old man for causing a fatal four-vehicle crash that killed one man and critically injured a woman. According to the report, the driver was operating his car at an excessive speed along a local road when he failed to stop at a traffic signal. His car crashed into a car being driven by a 43-year-old man. The collision caused the second car to strike the one traveling in front of it.

The third car then hit a fourth and shoved that vehicle into a wall. The driver of the second car died as a result of his injuries. The woman in the fourth vehicle suffered critical injuries. Arizona police stated that substances and speed were factors in this fatal series of accidents.

The driver is facing several charges, including second-degree murder and aggravated assault charges, along with others related to possession of illegal substances. The surviving family of the victim are understandably devastated by the physical loss of their loved one as well as struggling to cope with the financial losses that were caused by this fatal collision. The injured woman may also struggle to recover both physically and financially. Victims of these types of auto accidents are assured of the right to file civil suits against those deemed responsible in an effort to recover the financial losses they have sustained.
